Born in Gwadar

Bashir was born in the last decade of the 19th century in Gwadar and is the grandson of Gul Kamdia Bandali Parpiya who was the first Gul Kamadia for the Dar Khan of Indo-Pak Subcontinent.

His father was one of the richest men in Gwadar and it is said that he kept a sack full of coins near his charpai to use as a step to get on and off. but times changed and the family lent into financial difficulties.

Rahmatullah was blessed with natural abilities that he used to turn his fortunes around and become one of the richest traders in Gwadar. He was Mukhi for the Gwadar Jamat khana from 1938 to 1944 and the President of Gwadar Council 1946-1950. After Partition, he moved to Karachi and remained connected with the Sind Baluchistan Trading Company.

He died of cardiac arrest in 1971 while travelling for business in Barali, Sindh and is buried at Miyan (Mewa) Shah Cemetery, Karachi.
