At the beginning of the century Bukoba was but a village. Dharamsi Khatau whose head office was in Mombasa opened a branch there in 1903. Other Ithna-asheris opened branch offices in turn Nasir Mawji (1903), Sheriff Jiwa (1907), Walji Bhanji(1907) Abdullah Khimji (1908), Pir Bhai Ghulam Husain (1908), and Amersi Sunderji.(1913) [1]
