Jetha, Amirali Kassam Velji

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father and husband, Amirali Kassam Velji Jetha, on July 29, 2006 at the Foothills Hospital, after a courageous battle with heart disease.

Born in Kisumu, Kenya on October 21, 1945, Amir was married to Roshanara Kassam Remtulla on September 18, 1972. After their arrival to Canada in 1974, Amir found employment with CP Rail, where he remained a loyal and dedicated employee for over thirty years.

Amir’s life dedication to his faith was demonstrated by his tireless commitment and volunteer services. He remained steadfast to his faith until his passing. He was a loving father and husband, who always put his family first. He will be sadly missed by his wife Roshanara, daughter Salimah and son Inayat, as well as extended family, friends, and co-workers.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Unit 82 and CICU Unit 103A nurses, especially Carmen, Julie, Andrea, Darcy, and Matt as well as Dr. Todd Anderson for their determined, professional and tender care of our father. As well as Amir’s close friend Pedro, and the Patni, Karmali, Musani and Prihar families for their continuous support.

In living memory of Amirali Jetha, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
