Hassanali Juma was born in Zanzibar on Dec 19th, 1926. The family moved to Dar es Salaam a few years later.

After his marriage to Gulshan AG Abdulhussein, he joined his father in law's business - AG Abdulhussein & Co Ltd. The company exported Hides & Skins, Beeswax, Gum Arabic, Gum Copal, Raffia, Ivory and Copra. it imported Cotton, Hosiery, Machinery, Plastic ware, Building Materials, Hardware, Leather Goods and Sundry items.

Hassanali Juma was appointed Jamati Mukhi for Upanga Khane between 1969 and 1971. During his term of office, Prince Sadrudin, Prince Amyn Mohamed and Mowlana Hazar Imam visited Upanga JK. Mowlana Hazar Imam's visit was on November 11th, 1970. Hassanali Mukhi made a speech in Mowlana Hazar Imam's presence in Jamat Khana. Hassanali Mukhi had requested Ismail Ebrahim to write the speech for him. Hassanali Juma served as Chairman of ITREB in Tanzania and again he was Chairman of ITREB Ontario in the early 70s.

In Toronto, Hassanali Juma owned a country Style Donut franchise and he was also a Real Estate agent.

He had a heart attack and passed away suddenly on May 17th, 1996 at the age of 69.
