Naanbai lived to be 107 years old, being born in 1861 during the Imamat of Mawlana Hasanaly Shah, Naanbai served the home of Aga Khan I to IV. Witnessing the Takhtnashini of Imam Aga Aly Shah, all of the Imamat Jubilees of Imam Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah, Naanbai left this temporal world in 1968, just a decade in to the Imamat of Mawlana Shah Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan.
Up until the age of 105, she would sit on the floor on the terrace of their Dar-es-Salaam home with a stone mill, processing millet to make baajra-ja rotla. This is a fond memory of her great-granddaughter Rosmin; who would often watch and help add in handfuls of millet into the stone mill.
