Mohemedali Hasham Mandani(Born in).

Mukhiani Nadiya Bai grew up in Warangal, India where she went to school and University.

Her father was an exporter of ready-made garments from an export-free zone and made three visits to Sri Lanka.

He introduced Nadiya to her husband and they were married in 1988. At that time, when people asked her mother about Si Lanka, she would say that my daughter is going to "Sona ni Lanka"!

Nadiya joined her extended family home with three brothers in law on 1/6 acre plot. Each family had a separate plot in the garden but the whole family ate together.

Later, the house was sold when her brother in laws went abroad.

The family owned a parts and hardware store for 40 years in the section of Colombo called "Slave Island."

Nadiya and her husband now run the paint and hardware store in Slave Island.
