Noormohamed Premji worked as a policeman and later as a land administrator.
But he was a well known social worker and served the Sidhpur Momim jamaat for 45 years, particularly in the education field, particularly at the Sidhpur Hostel where he served for three consecutive terms. During that time, much progress was made in buildings etc. Through his personal sacrifice, many students were assisted to become doctors, engineers, accountants and business entrepreneurs.
He was also known for his generosity to Hindu students who were going for government service exams. His philanthropy extended to helping widows and other poor women in all the neighbouring areas of Sidhpur in all the communities of Sidhpur, who accepted his leadership and followed his instructions. It is said that anyone going to him for advice and help was never disappointed.
