Shamsuddin Bhai acquired his early education in Gwadar. He remained a member of the Gwadar Volunteer Core and served the Gwadar Council as Captain for several years.
In 1946, he relocated to Hyderabad, Deccan, India and continued serving the Jamaat as member of the Volunteer Core. In 1950, he completed a Machinery course on the advice of Imam Sultan Mohamed Shah.
In 1951, he moved to Pakistan and established businesses in Karachi, Jivani and Gwadar.
From 1956 to 1961, he was Vice President of the Gwadar Council and later between 1961 to 1976 he served as Mukhi at the Gwadar Jamaat.
Thereafter, he permanently moved and settled in Karachi.
In December 1988, he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest and was buried at the Sakhi Hasan Ismailia Cemetry, Karachi.
