Sarodar

Sarodar also known as Sadodar is a small rural town in Kathiawar, Gujarat.

We went to a soda stand at the roadside bus stop and asked to speak to the oldest resident. This man remembered the Khoja khano. Mr Mawjibhai a school employee from Jamnagar city overheard us and offered to take us there.

He took us to an small cross section in the main town where he kncoked a large house. A number of kind Hindu ladies offered to show us the room where the khano was in that house. She showed us the corner where the garpat was and where there now was some puja religious items and she said that they do thier puja in that same spot as it some spiritual signifance form the past. The family was from a city and only used the house for holidays. Across the street was a row of shops which she said was Khoja shopkeepers in the past.

Mawjibhai took us to his house which was also bought by his father from a Khoja. His deed was no available but he agreed to be in touch. We offered some fee for his time but he declined. We then asked him to use the funds for his school which he agreed.
