Ahmad want in for law and was called to the Bar in England. After returning to Bombay he started practice.
He was appointed to a Presidency Magistrate in Bombay and later was a member of the Privy Council of the State of Baroda till the State of Baroda acceded to the Indian Union after Indian Independence.
Ahmed, thereafter, till his death, continued his practice and was senior practitioner in criminal courts.
Ahmed was a Steward and a Committee member of the Royal Western India Turf Club and was a well-respected figure in Bombay Society.
During the last about 15 years of his life, he became a very religious minded person.
Mr. Hooseinally M. Rahimtoola had round about 1940, prepared some Family Notes. He had also kept, prior to his departure for Africa, some rough notes with his younger brother Suleman and, later on, some more notes with his son Jaffar.
This paper is an attempt to put together the available data for future generations of the family. It is hoped that the younger members of the family will periodically up-date this paper.'
