The German Colonial Handbook 1908 mentions "Ali Virji" as an Indian trader, resident in Morogoro in 1908. Since he is not listed in 1904 version of the German Colonial Handbook, it would seem that he & His brothers arrived in around 1907, when the Central Railway reached Morogoro.
