The German Colonial Handbook 1908 mentions "Rashid Virji. " as a merchant in Kissaki in 1908.
As he does not appear in the earlier 1904 version of the German Colonial Handbook 1904, it would seem that he & His brothers arrived in around 1907, when the Central Railway reached Morogoro.
