Born in Vankenar

Jena Bai was married in 1913 and came to Uganda with her husband to start a small "piri piri bezari" provision store, selling salt, chillies a threads etc. in Masaka, about 80 miles for Kampala. There were only 2-4 Khoja houses at this time.

Later, the local government gave them a contract to transport goods for which they bought a bullock cart, which her husband rode himself.
