- Fazal Lalji Samji 1898–1937
The German Colonial Handbook 1903 mentions "Lalji Shamji" as an Indian trader, resident in the German East Africa capital of Dar-es salaam in 1903. In the 1904 supplement of the same book, the name was misspent as "laji Senyi"
The 1908 edition of the German Colonial Handbook confirms that he was still trading in Dar es Salaam in 1908.
